When I was in Japan, most activities were done solo: Although I did meet some interesting people, I still preferred the freedom to decide what to do, where to go, and when to do it. It was easy enough to travel by train and to just go out and explore on my own – I ended up spending a good amount of time alone and learned a lot about myself. Japan was truly amazing and I had a lot of great memories there.
When I arrived in Indonesia, things changed dramatically right from the get go: Getting around was not as easy – This put me into situations to explore with others and to meet people from all over the world. The highlights of Indonesia were probably renting (and crashing) a motorbike, hiking volcanoes on multiple islands, and meeting new friends along the way. Although I am still being tortured by the hot-and-humid weather in Southeast Asia, I ain’t complaining as I am expanding my horizon every day.
Looking forward to see what Thailand has to offer.

The easiest way to get around Ubud is to ride a motorbike. I literally self-taught how to drive a motorbike, drove myself to the monkey forest nearby, and grabbed some food on the way. @Bali
