Homemade duck foie gras (fattened duck liver), a delicacy in French cuisine. Many people love it. But having experienced this myself for the first time, I can certainly say that I am not a big fan: Although rich and buttery, it is hard to enjoy something when all I think about is how the duck got force-fed to make its liver 10 times bigger. Thinking about it make me sad. The cornichons (tiny sour French pickles) and Dijon mustard (traditional French mustard) makes this dish a little more tolerable.
Sorry French cuisines, not at all impressed this time. Will try some of your many other dishes next.
